Fall Festival and History Day

November 9

10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Celebrate Fall with delicious South Carolina barbecue, local craft beer and live music at the South Carolina State Museum. Plus, take a trip through time with exciting activities and programs focused on South Carolina’s history. Enjoy:

  • A variety of barbecue made by award-winning South Carolina pitmasters

  • Local craft beer

  • Live performances by the Capital City Cloggers, Palmetto Blue, High Lonesome Mountain River Coal Train, Blue Iguanas, Papa String Band, Matthew Dickerson & Matt Watson, Savannah River Bluegrass and Balsam Grove

  • Demonstrations and displays from South Carolina artists

  • “Bed Turning” presentation featuring historic quilts from the collection of the State Museum

  • Behind-the-scenes and exhibit gallery tours

  • Waltz lessons

  • And lots more!

Fall Festival and History Day will take place in front of the museum, as well in the lobby and in areas throughout the museum. Guests are welcome to bring their own chair or blanket to enjoy some of the bands playing outside. All activities are included with museum general admission or membership, except for 4d and planetarium shows, food, beverages and art purchases.
