Tin Man Tuesday – Halloween in Oz :

Tues., Oct. 31 starting at 5 p.m.

Families get in your best costumes and join us at the museum for a safe family friendly Halloween party. Enjoy:

  • Games

  • Trick-or-Treat Scavenger Hunt

  • Costume Contest

  • Ghost Tour

  • Land of Oz Walk-Through

  • Special activities including: Sub-Zero Science Bites, make and melt a Wicked Witch, mix up a batch of Witch Goo, fly your own mini hot air balloon and create digital bling!

  • 4D theater and planetarium shows

  • Night-sky observing (weather permitting)

Gen. Admission is now 2 for $10 during Second Shift Twosday! Please note: planetarium and 4-D Theaters shows are an additional $5 each.

Planetarium Shows

Skies Over OzSkies Over Oz, planetarium
Enjoy tales of epic adventure in Oz told as a constellation myth, using imagined patterns of stars in the night sky. We’ll also take a quick look at the current night sky from here at home in Columbia. Run time: 30 mins.Show Run Time: 30 mins.

HalloScream Laser Lights
Guests will experience a dynamic laser show choreographed to classic Halloween tunes like Thriller, Monster Mash, and Ghostbusters and more. Show Run Time: 30 mins.

Special Tour

Ghost Tours
Join a special museum guide for a ghoulish and entertaining tour through the museum galleries. You’ll hear legends, folk tales and even a few spine-tingling stories about spooky museum experiences.

Tour times for Oct. 31:
7 p.m.

Tours are free with museum general admission.


Night-Sky Viewingobservatory
Open until 10 p.m.
Explore the night sky through the museum’s historic Alvan Clark telescope. Observing is included with museum general admission.
