ADMISSION: Unique and Special Needs Night activities are open to the general public and groups! Museum general admission on this evening is FREE for children and students with special needs and ONE adult. General admission for additional adults in your party is $8.95. Planetarium and 4D shows are $3 each.

Enjoy:

  • A meet and greet with Pete the Cat as we have a story-time read-a-long to her book, “Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons.” We’ll also create button art during a hands-on adaptive art class at 6 p.m.

  • Special sensory-friendly BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina Planetarium showing at 5 p.m. with lowered volume and lights raised in the event guests need to move about.

  • Special Rev. Dr. Solomon Jackson, Jr. 4D Theater showing at 7 p.m. with lowered volume. Please note: these shows will still include enhanced effects, including bursts of air, rumbling seats, leg ticklers, bubbles and snow, lighting effects, and squirts of water.

  • If it is a clear night guests can also enjoy night-sky viewing in the Boeing Observatory.

  • Access to Calming Spaces and Resource Rooms will be available throughout the evening.

School groups and other pre-formed groups are welcome to attend and participate in Unique and Special Needs Night activities! Groups do need to be booked in advance so contact group visits to setup your visit today at group_visits@scmuseum.org or call (803)898-4999.
