Virtual Film Screening with Q & A – “I Am Somebody”

Sat., Sept. 12 at 6:30 p.m.

The State Museum is hosting its first virtual movie screening and discussion. In conjunction with the exhibition “A Voice of Her Own: South Carolina Women and Politics,” we will watch the 1969 documentary “I Am Somebody” about the Charleston hospital workers strike, which was led by black women.

After the 30 minute movie we will host a discussion and question session led by Dr. Felice Knight of the Citadel. Dr. Knight specializes on African American History. She is on The Citadel’s Universities Studying Slavery Committee and a member of the Citadel’s Truth, Racial Healing, and Transformation Center team.
