Education at the South Carolina State Museum
The South Carolina State Museum offers a variety of FREE educational programs and also features digital dome planetarium shows, 4D theater films and a state-of-the-art observatory. These programs, lessons and shows are designed as an additional resource to meet South Carolina state education standards and are available for school field trips, homeschool students and more.

Field Trips
A field trip to the SC State Museum offers students a fundamental introduction to South Carolina history, art, natural history, and science. The museum offers a variety of on-site educational programs, guided tours, digital dome planetarium shows, 4D theater films, and a state-of-the-art observatory. Click HERE to learn more.

The State Museum currently offers several on-site museum staff led lessons in the Boeing Observatory. Click HERE to learn more.
Homeschools
Homeschool students receive free general admission to them museum every day and are invited to join us for special programming every month during Homeschool Thursdays. You must pre-register for Homeschool Thursday. Click HERE to learn more.
