| Hands-on, inquiry-based Gallery Lessons provide a more in-depth experience than guided tours and are offered in all subject areas.
Programs coordinated with state curriculum standards also are available in three other areas at the State Museum. NatureSpace offers interactive natural history lessons for students in K4 through 6th grade. Science Theatre offers exciting science programs for students in K4 through 12th grade.
Tours and Self-guided tours are available of the entire museum, as well as in specific subject areas.
Once you have decided which programs are right for your students, you are ready to make your reservations. Call (803) 898-4997 or email groupvisits@scmuseum.org. You also will be ready to learn about chaperone requirements and other Things to know before arrival.
Home Schools and Virtual School groups must have their association cards or copy of student identification letter to receive the SC School group rate. Only one Homeschool parent (the primary teacher) is admitted at the SC teacher rate, all others will pay $5 each.
Upon request, the museum will provide free Teacher Workshops. The museum also has a number of Starlab Programs available for teachers, such as Starlab, the portable planetarium.
