| Description:
Blackbeard's Lost Ship
Blackbeard was the most feared pirate of his day. Soon after his blockade of Charleston harbor in 1718, Blackbeard ran his ship, the Queen Anne's Revenge, aground off the North Carolina coast and abandoned her to the sea. Nearly 300 years later a group of marine archaeologists discovered the remains of the Queen Anne’s Revenge. Their careful preservation and analysis of the remains may answer the biggest mystery of Blackbeard’s reign: Did he run his ship aground by accident, or was the grounding a plot to double-cross his men and steal all their treasure for himself?
