South Carolina Muzzleloader Conference, Show and SaleMuzzleloader Conference
April 10 – 11 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
The South Carolina State Museum presents the inaugural South Carolina Muzzleloader Conference, featuring displays and sessions about 19th century muzzleloaders, gun building, metal etching, relief carving and silver inlay, decorating hawks, bags, straps, tanning leather, powder horn decorating, history of muzzleloading guns in the Southeast, gun safety and much more. Join us as we celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Hubble Space Telescope! Over the course of the last 25 years the Hubble has opened the eyes of the public to the vast beauty and deep mysteries of the universe. The family-friendly event will honor the Hubble’s contributions to science and will feature live streaming from the Smithsonian’s Air and Space Museum, sidewalk astronomy, evening observing, hands-on activities and more.

Sun., May 3 from 12 to 5 p.m.
General admission to the South Carolina State Museum is only $1 for guests on First Citizens First Sunday! Included in general admission, guests can four floors of permanent and changing exhibits. Whether it’s an heirloom, antique or artifact, local experts will be onsite in a variety of fields to offer informal verbal appraisals at the Museum Road Show.

Exquisitely detailed military miniature figures or the little plastic G.I. Joes from your childhood, they’re all here at the Southeastern Toy Soldier Show.
