The eighth annual Art Day at the State Museum will feature a variety of programs highlighting our current art exhibition in the Lipscomb Gallery, Reflections on the River.

Activities will include:

  • Tours of the Reflections on the River exhibition with Art Curator, Amy Chalmers, at 11:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.

  • Become a Sherlock level art detective and learn how to discover hidden clues in paintings that can reveal more about the work and the artist.

  • Demonstrations from South Carolina artists throughout the museum, including: Abstract Alexandra, Rick Wells, Allan Anderson, Christopher Lane, Hollis Brown Thornton, Craig Stevens, Rev. Johnnie Simmons, Charles Hite, Geraldine Smith and Virginia Scotchie.

  • Hands on crafts for the whole family: origami, paper marbling, and collage!
