Check-In: 5 p.m. on Friday; Departure: 10 a.m. on Saturday

Join the State Museum for a family overnight adventure as we explore the night-sky and travel across the universe!

This is a wonderful family friendly event and is ideal for children aged 6-12, but children of all ages are welcome.

Night at the State Museum: Astronomy includes:

  • A chance to sleep amongst the museum’s exhibits and artifacts.

  • Exploring constellations, planets, the Moon, and more in a special live, seasonal planetarium SkyTour.

  • Night-time observing through the historic 1926 Alvan Clark telescope including opportunities to see the Orion Nebula and planets.*

  • Admission to the new blockbuster exhibit, Hall of Heroes.

  • Hands-on activities.

  • Little Caesars Pizza dinner.

  • A morning 4D movie experience.

  • Continental Breakfast with coffee.

  • Shopping in the Cotton Mill Exchange.

* Please note: Opening the observatory dome depends on good weather. If weather is poor, staff will have alternative activities on hand including archived images taken through our telescope by SC students.
