Where in the State is Carolina Gaffney?

Check-In: 5 p.m. on Friday; Departure: 10 a.m. on Saturday

Some of South Carolina’s most precious landmarks are disappearing, and notorious thieves have been spotted in the area. But what grand mastermind is really behind this? And why? Join our own ACME Crime Net in this interactive Overnight as we interview suspects and track down clues, all in a bid to answer the question: Where in the State is Carolina Gaffney? Featuring:

  • A chance to sleep amongst the museum’s exhibits and artifacts.

  • Explore the universe in a special live, seasonal planetarium SkyTour.

  • Night-time observing through the historic 1926 Alvan Clark telescope including opportunities to see the Orion Nebula and planets.*

  • Little Caesars Pizza dinner.

  • A morning screening of Sherlock Holmes 4D: the Great Detective.

  • Continental Breakfast with coffee.

  • Shopping in the Cotton Mill Exchange.

  • Morning access to the blockbuster exhibit, The International Exhibition of Sherlock Holmes. (Please note: this requires an additional charge for exhibit entrance.)

* Please note: Opening the observatory dome depends on good weather. If weather is poor, staff will have alternative activities on hand including archived images taken through our telescope by SC students.

Rescheduling is subject to space availability. The South Carolina State Museum reserves the right to cancel or reschedule any activity. A refund will be given if the museum cancels an overnight.
