The First Sunday of Every Month

General admission to the South Carolina State Museum is only $1 for guests on First Citizens First Sunday! Included in general admission, guests can explore four floors of permanent and changing exhibits. Blockbuster exhibit admission, Planetarium and 4D Theater shows are an additional price. Second Shift Twosdays
Every Tuesday from 5 – 8 p.m.
General admission is 2 for $10!

The museum is open late every Tuesday! Explore four floors of permanent and changing exhibits, planetarium shows, 4D Theater films, night-sky viewing in the Observatory and more. Click HERE to learn more.

Circle of DialogueRequiem for Mother Emmanuel Exhibition, Leo Twiggs, South Carolina State Museum, Mother Emanuel
Tues., April 17 at 6:30 p.m.
In conjunction with the exhibit Requiem for Mother Emanuel by Leo Twiggs the State Museum is hosting discussion groups on select Tuesday evenings. Guests are invited to join a facilitator-led discussion group to explore their reactions to this thought-provoking exhibition. Dr. Leo Twiggs will also make an appearance during the program. Doors open at 6 p.m. Shows at 7, 8, 9, and 10 p.m.

Our Friday night planetarium experiences have gone Cosmic! In addition to laser shows, guests can also immerse themselves in a NEW full dome musical experience featuring eye-catching visuals in the 55ft digital dome BlueCross BlueShield of South Carolina planetarium.
