All kids, aged 12 and under, receive FREE general admission on Mon., Sept. 11

The SC State Museum is extending a special offer for out-of-school kids and displaced families in the Midlands. With four floors of permanent and changing exhibits to explore, plus a 55ft digital dome planetarium, 4D Theater and state-of-the-art observatory the State Museum is the perfect destination for families.

Add-on a 4-d theater film and/or planetarium show for $5 each.

The LEGO® Movie™ 4-D Experience®Lego the Movie
Emmet and his Master Builder friends return in The LEGO® Movie™ 4-D Experience®, where they are faced with the harrowing task of defeating power-hungry villain Risky Business! Run time: 15 mins.

Planetarium Shows

Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure planetarium
This exciting new planetarium experience takes audiences on a remarkable journey into the relatively unexplored world of the “other dinosaurs,” those reptiles that lived beneath the water. Follow a family of Dolichorhynchops, also known informally as “Dollies,” as they traverse ancient waters populated with saber-toothed fish, prehistoric sharks and giant squid. Show Run Time: 40 mins.

Earth, Moon and Sun planetarium
This kid-friendly planetarium show, explores the relationship between the Earth, Moon and Sun. Learn why the Sun rises and sets, examine the Moon’s orbit, craters, phases and eclipses and explore past and future space travel to our Moon and beyond. Show Run Time: 25 mins.
