From Earth to the Universe
Take a visually breathtaking journey through our solar system, interstellar space, and beyond as we travel from Earth to and through the Universe in this full-dome planetarium experience. Show Run Time: 30 mins.
Earth, Moon and Sun
This kid-friendly planetarium show, explores the relationship between the Earth, Moon and Sun with the help of Coyote, a character adapted from Native American oral traditions. Show Run Time: 25 mins.
Two Small Pieces of Glass + Sky Tour
This show tells the story of the telescope, how it was invented and how it works from Galileo’s modifications, to a child’s spyglass, to the launch of NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope. At the end of the show, there will be a live 10-minute sky tour. Show Run Time: 30 mins.
RACE: Are We So Different?
Explore a cultural and scientific look at race throughout history and the reasons we should celebrate our differences in the new blockbuster exhibit, RACE: Are We So Different?, presented by Central Carolina Community Foundation.
Take an up-close look at the the Sun in the State Museum’s sate-of-the-art Boeing Observatory. Solar observing is dependent on clear skies, but even if the weather is poor you can still visit the observatory and see the historic 1926 Alvan Clark telescope!
