Jason Schumacher
Jason Schumacher serves as a Public Safety Officer at the Museum, where he helps ensure the safety and security of visitors, staff, facilities, and collections. In this role, he supports security operations, asset protection, emergency preparedness, first aid response, and guest services.
Jason brings nearly two decades of public safety experience to the Museum. He served with the Columbia Fire Department beginning in 2008, most recently as a Fire Captain/EMT. As Fire Captain, he led and managed fire station operations, oversaw team training, promoted public education initiatives, and ensured the safety and effectiveness of personnel during emergency response operations. Earlier in his career, Jason also served as a firefighter with the James Island Fire Department.
His extensive emergency response experience, leadership, and commitment to public service make him a valuable addition to the Museum's Public Safety team.
