Select Tuesdays, 5 – 7 p.m.
Join the South Carolina State Museum for a special night each month designed for children and families with special needs.
Each night includes:

5 p.m. – Sensory Friendly Planetarium Show with lowered volume and lights raised in the event guests need to move about.

6 p.m. – Storybook Character Meet and Greet with adaptive art activity.

7 p.m. – Sensory Friendly 4D Show with lowered volume. Please note: these shows will still include enhanced effects, including bursts of air, rumbling seats, leg ticklers, bubbles and snow, lighting effects, and squirts of water.

5-7 p.m. – Access to Calming Spaces and Resource Rooms available
Admission: Accessibility Night activities are open to the general public and groups! Museum general admission on this evening is FREE for children and students with special needs and ONE adult. General admission for additional adults in your party is $5. Planetarium and 4D shows are $3 each.
Character meet-and-greet, story time, and art activity are all FREE!
Guests are encouraged to bring equipment including wheelchairs, walkers, noise reducing headphones, and other technology.
