Second Saturday Member Morning – July 10

July 10

Sat., July 10 from 9 – 11 a.m.

State Museum members are invited to enjoy exclusive, members-only access to explore the museum this Summer! Members can enjoy time in the exhibit galleries before the museum opens to the general public and more.

General admission is free for museum members. Members may use their attraction passes and/or purchase discounted tickets for Planetarium and 4D shows. Not a member? Join today!

Member Morning for July 10 includes:

9:20 a.m.
Exclusive showing of the family friendly planetarium laser show, “Earth, Moon and Sun,” which tells the story behind the famous constellations.

9:50 a.m.
Showing of SMALLFOOT 4D Experience in the newly re-opened 4D theater.

10 a.m. and 11 a.m.
Sun Sounds Observatory Workshop – Did you know that the Sun makes “noise?” Scientists can learn a lot about the inside of the Sun by “listening” to it with special telescopes. Come hear some of the weird sounds the Sun makes – transposed into human hearing range, of course! Join SCSM educators in the Boeing Observatory for this exclusive program.

10 – 11 a.m.
Pottery Demonstrations – In conjunction with the Early Southern Face Vessels Symposium, the museum invites members to enjoy artist demonstrations from South Carolina potters.

PLEASE NOTE:
The museum is managing gallery and theater capacity and face covering are strongly encouraged. Members are strongly encouraged to submit an advanced ticket RSVP for planetarium and / or 4d theater showings. Once at the museum, members may either redeem their 4D attraction tickets or purchase member-priced 4D tickets for $4.
