7:30 – 8 p.m. with a Q&A afterward

Quasars are among the most powerful objects in the known universe. These active galaxies shine so bright that astronomers can detect them across vast distances in space. Join us as USC Graduate Student Francie Cashman discusses her research using quasars to study how galaxies have evolved over time.

Please note: this event will take place at the Hunter-Gatherer Brewery and Ale House, 1402 Jim Hamilton Blvd., Columbia, SC 29205.
