Tues., July 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Join the SCSM the 2nd Tuesday of every month for a very special bedtime story and craft time with some of our favorite literary characters!

This month we will be reading Where the Wild Things Are with help from a special guest. We’ll also be making Monster Feet and a Paper Crown, just check out the list below to see what materials you’ll need.

Registration is required and capacity is limited. Click HERE to register now!

Craft Activity Materials:

Glue/tape/other adhesive
A few sheets of any color construction paper
This handout
OPTIONAL: Tissue Paper

Cut out the shape of two monster feet. Think of a tall, curved oval shape with pointed toes.

Next we need to cut out the middle flap so you have a way to put your feet in them. You can do this by folding your paper in half and cutting in the center. Do not cut the flap completely out, as you want to make sure to have something to cover your feet, like in the picture above.

The next steps are optional. You can cut out small triangles for each toe to make toenails. Attach with your adhesive of choice.

For a “hairy” look, you can attach crumpled strips of tissue paper to the top of your feet with the adhesive of choice.

For the crown, you can color and cut the handout provided here.

Once you have cut out the pieces, attach them to one another end to end to make a circle. Make sure it can fit your head.

You’ve made your crown and feet!
