American Revolution in SC: Teacher Preview Workshop

This professional development experience offers an in-depth introduction to the American Battleground: South Carolina's Revolution exhibition, its key themes, and the stories, objects, and ideas that connect to classroom learning. During this exhibition preview workshop, participants will get to explore the exhibition, speak with museum curators, collaborate with fellow educators, and review the museum’s other American Revolution assets.
Designed for K – 12 teachers, homeschool educators, pre-service teachers, and other education professionals.
Participation in this workshop is FREE. Online Registration is Required. Space is Limited.
At-a-glance schedule*:
8:30am - 9:00am: Light breakfast and coffee
9:00am - 9:15am: Introductions
9:15am - 10:15am: Exploration of the exhibition
10:15am - 11:15am: Q&As with museum curators
11:15am - 12:45pm: Lunch on your own
1:00pm - 1:45pm: Revolutionary Astronomers Planetarium Show
2:00pm - 2:30pm: Review of A Blueprint for Liberty traveling exhibition and traveling trunk
2:30pm - 3:30pm: Wrap up activities and debrief
