The South Carolina State Museum is committed to continuing to fulfill our mission to providing educational environments that entertain and inspire. See below for new and upcoming programs – onsite and online.

Virtual Planetarium Sky Tour
Thurs., Oct. 14 at 6:30 p.m. via Facebook

Join State Museum planetarium manager, Liz Klimek, on the 2nd and 4th Thursdays of each month for a virtual exploration of the stars, planets and constellations you can observe in night-sky. These programs premier on the museum’s Facebook page at the designated time listed above.


International Observe the Moon Member Night
Fri., Oct. 15 from 7 – 10 p.m.

This special members-only evening will be held in conjunction with International Observe the Moon Night, which is a worldwide celebration of all things lunar that takes place every Fall. Members are invited to an exclusive evening event featuring night sky viewing and a Lunar Live Sky planetarium experience. Click HERE to learn more


Telescope Livestream
Sat., Oct. 16 at 8:30 p.m. via Facebook and YouTube

Join State Museum Boeing Observatory staff for a virtual look at the night sky (including the planet Saturn) from a telescope streamed on Facebook Live! Weather permitting, staff will livestream a telescope feed from the museum and be available to answer questions in the comments.


Spooky Saturday
Sat., Oct. 23 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
