A Momentum-Building, Exhibit-Enhancing, Awe-Inspiring $15 million Catalyst Campaign to Revitalize SCSM
Sweeping change is coming to the museum that's Yours, Mine, and Ours. With the help of public and private support, SCSM is poised to provide MORE art, history, culture & innovation; MORE galleries, exhibitions & education; MORE classrooms, programs & outreach; MORE event space, gathering space & SCSM hospitality.
Starting in 2028, SCSM will begin resetting the public experience with a fresh attitude, modern renovations, and game-changing, multidisciplinary exhibitions. With an eye to the future, the museum will elevate and broaden its statewide educational impact and lean imaginatively into invention, creativity, and entrepreneurship.
Drawing from the Reimagine the Experience (RTE) project, Make Way for MORE, led by the SCSM Foundation, will holistically transform nearly 225,000 square feet of space, marking the beginning of a new era of learning, discovery, and change - an era of MORE.

Hitting the Road for MORE
Hitting the Road for MORE is the official kickoff to connect MORE South Carolinians with MORE information about the positive upgrades they can look forward to at SCSM. The Museum and Foundation team will meet with community leaders, school districts, museums, businesses, donors, and friends to share exhibition details, discuss Palmetto State inventors and innovations, and celebrate the emerging invention education ecosystem.
