
Play ball! With baseball season in full swing, stop by the State Museum to celebrate America’s pastime with special baseball themed activities and presentations inspired by the museum’s current photography exhibition, The 521 All-Stars: A Championship Story of Baseball and Community.
Members from the team featured in The 521 All-Stars, as well as the author, Frye Gaillard, and photographer, Byron Baldwin, of the book that was the inspiration for the exhibition will reunite for a panel discussion - on its 25th anniversary!
Baseball Day activities include:
- 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m. | Panel discussion and meet-and-greet with members of the The 521 All-Stars, author Frye Gaillard, and photographer Byron Baldwin.
- 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. | Presentation from Columbia Fireflies highlighting the history of baseball in Columbia
- 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Make-your-own baseball card craft
- 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. | Enter to win a chance to throw out the first pitch at a Columbia Fireflies game
- 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. | Delicious ballpark-themed treats from the Crescent Café by the Food Academy
- Plus, a special opportunity to take a photo with Mason, the Columbia Fireflies mascot
