People who visited the museum between the hours of 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 may have been exposed. The person did not know they were infectious at the time of the exposure.

The State Museum is a participating organization with Museums for All, which offers discounted general admission to guests receiving SNAP, EBT, WIC and / or Medicaid benefits.
Museum Member Admission
Members, please RSVP for the day and time you intend to visit. If you wish to see planetarium and/or 4D shows, you can select the time you wish to attend and then either use your comp attraction tickets or purchase add-on tickets when you arrive.

Sat., Feb. 21, 2026 | 10:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. and 6 p.m. - 8:30 p.m. Harvesting Heritage is an ongoing event series at the South Carolina State Museum highlighting the past and future of creativity, innovation, and artistry in Black foodways throughout South Carolina.
Sat., Feb. 14, 2026 | 9 - 11 a.m. This program provides free access for families of children, teenagers, and young adults who would benefit from a sensory-friendly experience and quieter setting at the museum.
